So it started with how great the reference pic Rob Harris supplied for a portrait of his father. I saw how good that painting turned out and decided I would probably have to start taking the photos myself, if I wanted to create some more dramatic lighting and mood to my paintings.
So on a Sunday morning I planned to do some photos of my beautiful wife Jodie as i was certain these would make for some great painting reference. But.... as you know woman can be very critical of there own pictures and we could never get one that she was satisfied with. At this point I got Levi to sit in her place and he did wonderfully as my new model.
Once i found a photo of Levi I was convinced would be a good painting the process began. I had the majority of the painting done when i realized i would need to change the hands around slightly to make the painting more convincing.
